Simple Balcony HF Antenna

The antenna was made on a plastic fishing pole in 4.5- meter length. Figure 1 shows design of the antenna.

Antenna was made with wire in 1- mm (18- AWG) diameter. Lengthening coil installed at 3.5 meter from the grounded end. The coil has inductance in 33 micro Henry and contains 135 turns of 0.63- mm (22- AWG) wire wound on the form in diameter of 13- mm.

Antenna is fed by coaxial cable RG58 in 5.25- meter length through 7 x 7 N7DDC Automatic Antenna Tuner. Ground of the tuner connected to the metal rail of the balcony. Antenna installed at 45 degree to the building wall. SWR is less the 1- 1.2 on the 7- 29.0 MHz range. Antenna was tested in the Air with excellent result.
